The Senior Platform Network Engineer will perform network engineering and design, creating engineering design artifacts, hands on administration, implementation, and troubleshooting of Enterprise Level Juniper network systems in support of the next generation of satellite data management capabilities in an evolving threat landscape. Tasks include design/implementing switch, firewall, and router configurations, utilizing knowledge and experience with network technologies, services, operations, and associated security practices. The Senior Platform Network Engineer will primarily work in our Aurora, CO location. The ideal candidate must be Local to the area and willing to drive into the Raytheon Facility to support system development. Some travel (up to 10%) may be required at customer sites to support Installation, integration and test activities as needed.

Requirements

• Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Advanced Experience designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting Juniper network systems.
• Experience with Linux System Administration (E.g. RHEL 6.0+).
• Comp TIA Security + within 90 days after starting in the role.
• Current TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance is required day 1.

Nice To Haves

• Current Juniper Networking Certification (JNCIA-Junos; JNCIS-SP; JNCIP; JNCIE) is highly desired.
• Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) concepts.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g.: Scrum, SAFe).
• Experience with Juniper's cloud networking solutions, including those integrating with public cloud providers like AWS and Azure.
• Experience with code repository systems (E.g. ClearCase, Bit Bucket).
• Basic Experience with scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash).
• Basic Experience Using Automation Frameworks.
• Experience in other network products (E.g. Cisco, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ASA, Brocade) is a plus.
• Basic Experience with containerization tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to design, deploy, implement, modernize, and support scalable Juniper network solutions.
• Design/architect/develop and support Juniper Network systems optimizing for performance and scalability across multiple computing environments.
• Utilize command-line interface (CLI) knowledge for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Juniper hardware.
• Utilize Linux skills at the command line to deploy updates and change products for Juniper based network systems to support program needs.
• Provide guidance on network resource allocation, utilization, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot network issues and implement mitigation and prevention strategies.
• Use in-depth knowledge of core routing and switching protocols to support the program’s networking needs.
