About The Position

Intangible is camera-native AI for creative direction, giving professional teams camera-centric control over generative AI so they can see the whole story before they build it. We are an interdisciplinary team of engineers, artists and designers that have built and shipped multiple end-to-end products at companies like Apple, Unity, Pixar, ILM and Electronic Arts. Intangible is seed funded by a16z Speedrun, Crosslink Capital and prominent angels. We are a design-obsessed, engineering-heavy team shipping a groundbreaking product, and we’re looking for someone who shares our attention to detail and love of craft. We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help scale our infrastructure. You’ll build and maintain the data and services powering our creative tools, ensuring speed, reliability, and scale. Our ideal candidate has deep expertise in managing content across asynchronous and real-time collaborative environments, including orchestration of agentic APIs and data flows through these environments.

Requirements

Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Practical expertise with cloud infrastructure and IaC tools
Deep understanding of distributed systems, WebSockets, WebTransport, and realtime sync
Optimizing schema and large data sets for use by LLMs
Architecting and deploying multi-tenant systems with strong role, permission, and tenant isolation
Managing schema migrations and cross-environment data synchronization safely
Comfort working in a fast-moving, creative environment with a highly interdisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

Expertise in GCP and/or PostgreSQL
Experience with 3D tools or creative platforms
Passion for building creative tools and empowering artists
Experience using AI tools to improve engineering workflows (e.g., code generation, debugging, testing, documentation), or strong openness to adopting them.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for Intangible's platform layer
Design and evolve infrastructure for our AI-assisted, collaborative tools at scale
Lead the implementation of backend services and APIs with a focus on security, modularity, and performance
Define and implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, and system health tooling
Ensure our systems meet high availability targets ("four nines") while remaining flexible for rapid iteration
Integrate 3rd-party services including AI pipelines, payments, analytics, and user auth
Collaborate across product, design, and ML to translate creative tooling needs into backend capabilities
