DroneSense is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help us build, monitor and improve our drone software platform for first responders. We are growing rapidly as more firefighters and first responders use DroneSense to save lives; we need your help to scale and grow. What would I be doing? Work alongside our engineering teams ensuring we have the tools needed to build, test, secure and deploy code Design, build, and maintain high quality infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Maintain Kubernetes clusters, with a strong focus on Rancher-based management Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments Monitor and manage systems in AWS, as well as maintain AWS images with Packer Improve observability with monitoring, logging and alerting with tools such as OpenSearch and CloudWatch Design, build and maintain resilient and scalable server architectures Scripting - bash, Python, Go, etc Manage authentication and authorization servers Collaborate with developers and QA on workflows and deployments Rotate as part of on-call support outside of normally scheduled hours Would I be a good match for this position? You enjoy working closely with developers and also optimizing and automating processes wherever possible. You also keep a strong focus on security and scalability, as well as monitoring and alerting.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building HA infrastructure on cloud hosted systems like AWS
3+ years of experience working with and maintaining kubernetes
3+ years of experience working with terraform
5+ years experience with Linux CLI
Advanced knowledge of working with Rancher for Kubernetes cluster provisioning
Solid understanding of and experience working with AWS services (including Lambda, VPC, EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, ALB)
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab, Github Actions
Experience with network infrastructure and network security
Experience automating system configuration and provisioning (Terraform, AWS userdata, Cloudformation, Ansible, etc)

Responsibilities
