About The Position

Responsible for the Quality Management Systems across the region to provide “World Class” Quality products, processes, and systems while driving timely corrective action for recurring product failures, both internal and external. Responsible for establishing strategic plans, implementing and follow-up of policies and procedures at all levels to ensure the quality system will meet or exceed internal and external customers’ needs and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • 5+ years of supervisory / leadership experience
  • Understanding of ASQ CQM body of knowledge (CQM certification meets requirements)
  • Basic knowledge of COQ (cost of quality) and how it relates to problem-solving
  • Understanding and knowledge of quality management systems like ISO9000
  • Knowledge of advanced quality tools like FMEA, DOE, QFD, and Six Sigma

  • Skilled use of advanced quality tools like FMEA, DOE, QFD, Six Sigma
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM), American Society for Quality Certification (ASQ), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

Responsibilities

  • Set department objectives/KPIs, measure and follow up ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Manage a team at a single large production volume plant that includes a Supplier Center while overseeing the supplier quality management and development programs for the Supplier Center
  • Manager the supplier relationship and quality audits for the Supplier Center
  • Complete one-on-one meetings with direct reports and skip level with indirect reports to provide a space for employees to share feedback, discuss performance, identify potential issues and proactively address challenges. The manager is responsible for the implementation of the recognition program for the Quality team.
  • Implement all relevant policies and procedures described in the Quality Operation System (QOS/ TranZform ) and ensure compliance in the Plant with continuous improvement and changes with the new strategies.
  • Performs routine analysis of total COQ/COF, both internal and external, identifies top opportunities, conducts Pareto analysis, and prioritizes product failures in need of prompt corrective action.
  • Facilitate interpretation of the budget and impact of the countermeasures and verify savings accomplished and align them with target costing and divisional initiatives.
  • Monitor and update the weekly score card and submit detailed reports to appropriate executives when it is required.
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.
  • Input and hold responsibility for Quality budgets related with manpower and efficiency (OT control)
  • Provides multiple levels of training for all department team members: lean training, quality training, team building, cross training, etc., assisting each team member in growing individually in preparation for further advancement.
  • Following the completion of corrective actions, monitors the affected product field failure trend data to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the Tier 3 meetings for Quality KPI review and communicate the actions taken and the next steps.
  • Facilitate individuals or teams through a formal problem-solving methodology and develop a prioritizing system for problem solving initiatives
  • Responsible for internal audits, external audits, and independent product audit resources to ensure production validation prior to release to the customer (ex. final and in-process product inspection).
  • Determine inspection levels and frequency appropriate to the situation.
  • Establish and plan internal audits including product, process, and quality management system.
  • Execute corrective actions for audit findings in a timely manner.
  • Manage the Quality Information System (QIS) for gathering data and the Quality Operating System (QOS) throughout the operations.
  • Assures that measurement systems used in the quality system are appropriate to the current level of the quality system.
  • Facilitate individuals or teams through a formal problem-solving methodology and develop a prioritizing system for problem-solving initiatives.
  • Determine the need for statistical methods to analyze variation as appropriate for the level of the quality system. Uses this information to drive a “Fact-Based Decision Making” quality system.
  • Supports the action items and activities of the Dealer Customer Partnership program as they relate to product and process quality improvements.
  • Provides prompt response to the product complaints of External Sales Reps and Associates, including acknowledgment of receipt of the complaint and resolution of the product problem.
  • Supports NPS score initiatives and reviews DOMO system data.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the quality system such as developing and administering the system, training, coaching employees, and facilitating change throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that manufacturing operations are capable and meet all engineering specifications and test requirements.
  • Interfaces with Research and Development, Manufacturing, and Supplier quality to drive quality improvements and ensure quality launches of new products.
