The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. The Biogas Senior Operator is a well rounded technician, who has displayed a proven track record of influential leadership, advanced troubleshooting techniques and training and mentoring capabilities. The Candidate must go through a formal vetting process of qualification, which consists of a committee of two Plant Managers, Operations Specialists and the Manager of Operations. The candidate must be able to perform as acting Manager in the absence of Plant Management and successfully maintain operations of the Biogas Facility. Responsible for planning and execution of daily maintenance and operations of Air Liquide Biogas facility

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong command of English language, verbal and written
  • Ability and willingness to be on-call, and work holidays and weekends, as required
  • Exhibits knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, machine repair and operation
  • Must Pass “Senior Operator Qualification”
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of chemical/gas processing, production plant operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • Mechanical/ electrical field experience
  • Associates Degree in a technical field
  • Military technical training

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, permit, and verify completion of contractor personnel work
  • Maintain gas collection system to safely and cost-effectively maximize both the quantity and quality of biogas for processing
  • Perform planned/ unplanned maintenance tasks as required (ex. equipment calibrations, equipment PM’s, control system loop checks, electrical, pump repair, instrumentation troubleshooting, replacement of analyzers, aid in compressor tear downs, facility repairs, etc)
  • Complete maintenance logs consistent with facility operating plan
  • Plan utilization of production facilities to improve efficiency of operations
  • Maintain facility materials and spare parts inventory
  • Assist in routine administrative duties such as expense reporting, procurement, and production forecasts.
  • Ability to work well with others; Interface with landfill (biogas source) operating team to support good relations and coordinate efforts
  • Make suggestions to improve plant safety, operational efficiency and/or product quality
  • Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices / procedures for plant personnel, visitors, and contractors
  • Install, maintain, repair or replace small gauge electrical wiring to include control wiring
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
  • Comfortable navigating different software to pull trends for data handling and input
  • Troubleshoot/ maintain plant equipment by utilizing a data-driven approach to pinpoint areas of concern to include: electrical devices, process upsets, etc
  • Train and mentor new employees
