Sr. Plant Accountant / Controller
About The Position
The Plant Controller is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting, reporting, and financial operations at the facility. This role partners closely with plant and corporate finance leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance experience, a hands-on approach, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. This role will play a critical part in strengthening internal controls, enhancing financial processes, and driving continuous improvement across systems and reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 4+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience in a mid-sized public or private company environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel and familiarity with ERP systems and database tools
- Knowledge of local and federal tax practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities
- Complete all accounting and financial reporting activities, including month-end and year-end close processes
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Develop and manage standard costing processes within a manufacturing environment
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly production and KPI reports
- Partner with plant leadership to support operational and strategic planning initiatives
- Support treasury activities in collaboration with the corporate finance team
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly management reporting packages
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities
- Analyze financial results, monitor performance against budget, and provide actionable insights
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
- Monitor parts warehouse procedures and inventory controls
