Responsibilities

  • Administer agency policies and objectives for program activities in natural resources, land use planning, and economic development.
  • Initiate and direct data collection and management activities related to the State Data Center and GIS.
  • Supervise municipal and regional assistance programs and floodplain management.
  • Prepare annual work programs in collaboration with program staff and ensure their implementation.
  • Work with the Finance Director to develop and implement program budgets.
  • Participate in state agency coordination activities related to land use planning and community development.
  • Serve as the state coordinator for FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program and Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning program.
  • Prepare and administer contractual agreements with government units and private firms.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of GIS and other research/data collection projects.
  • Serve as the lead contact to the Census Bureau on population estimates and census activities.
  • Supervise the annual population estimates and periodic projections released by OEP.
  • Oversee and direct the ongoing State Development Program.
  • Prepare grant applications to secure funding for statewide planning documents.
