About The Position

The Senior Phlebotomist: Works independently, organizing work for the department. Manages tasks assigned by the Supervisor such as scheduling, workload recording, or problem solving and acts in the best interest of the department. Is viewed as a mentor to the other phlebotomists in the department. Is proficient in some or all of the following: patient identification, phlebotomy, sweat chloride testing, arterial blood collection, point of care testing on multiple platforms, EKG tracings, patient registration. Documents proficiency of other department personnel. Takes a lead role in training. Participates in or provides input for the evaluation process of personnel and teaming activities.

Requirements

  • Post High School Diploma Program - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Post High School Diploma Program
  • If role requires the use of a hospital owned vehicle, a valid driver's license with appropriate driving record is required.
  • ASCP or CAP accredited equivalent eligible
