About The Position

This is a traveling position for Pharmacy Technicians that are highly motivated and capable of collaboration with pharmacy staff members, Pharmacy Directors, VPO's, and other operational team members in increasing and ensuring the success of our pharmacies. This position requires the understanding of all pharmacy technician functions, leadership skills, a strong strategizing skill set, and project management capabilities. This is a remote opportunity where you are based out of your home and travel (75%) to where you are assigned. The ideal candidate will live West of the Mississippi (Central through Pacific Time Zones), be within a commutable distance to an airport and can multi-task, be adaptable and flexible, as well as being able to function effectively in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required.
  • 5 Years LTC Technician experience required.
  • Leadership Experience required.
  • Eventual Multistate State Licensure/Registration required.
  • National Certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 Years LTC Field experience desired.
  • All State or Multistate Licensure/Registration desired.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Site Pharmacy Director to implement work flow and productivity measures that will achieve performance targets and customer expectations.
  • Works with Site Pharmacy Director and pharmacy staff to execute Company Initiatives, Core Processes and Quality Initiatives to continually improve the overall quality of service to our customers.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws/pharmacy regulations and Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Monitors the purchasing and inventory supply for the pharmacy to ensure goals are being met.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biologicals.
  • Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
  • Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
  • Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room; assists in inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications.
  • Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels.
  • Mixes/packages IV medications and sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
  • Selects and applies appropriate tools to accurately estimate and plan the work of teams or project groups.
  • Monitors and reports on the progress of the resolution of high impact problems according to established standards.
