About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Personnel Security Specialist to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and Office of Security (SIS) in Springfield, VA. The role involves providing direct support to the PERSEC Division Chief and managing contractor support to the established PERSEC Division. The specialist will ensure timely security support to Personnel Security's internal and external tasks, projects, and programs, while also documenting and managing contractor team members' Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions. Responsibilities include training contractor staff, providing backup support during vacancies, and keeping government officials informed about staffing changes and personnel onboarding status. The specialist will monitor security compliance, provide technical expertise, and support the NGA Personnel Security Appeals Board process.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance and must be willing to undergo a polygraph exam.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field to personnel security.
• Extensive experience in personnel security (11-14 years) in the DOD/IC.
• Experience leading personnel security programs.
• Demonstrated experience with clear and concise writing skills.
• Positive, engaging communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills to ensure meeting required timelines and Federal Investigative Standards quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to PERSEC Division Chief.
• Perform and/or directly support the duties described in associated positions.
• Lead and manage contractor support to established PERSEC Division.
• Ensure timely security support to Personnel Security's internal and external tasks, projects, and programs.
• Document and manage collection of contractor team members Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions.
• Train contractor staff with desired skillset and PERSEC operating procedures.
• Provide back-up support when a contractor vacancy exists.
• Keep Government Division Chief, POCs, and Team Leads informed of staffing changes and personnel onboarding status.
• Monitor and manage supported security programs and operations.
• Assist, collaborate, liaison, and coordinate with other internal and external customers.
• Provide agency level technical expertise concerning personnel security disciplines.
• Monitor security compliance with PERSEC guidelines/procedures/policy.
• Research, prepare and maintain security procedures/guidance.
• Provide security guidance and analyze complex data for contractors.
• Design and develop report capabilities and generate reports containing security metrics.
• Bring security issues to the attention of the government in a timely manner.
• Support the NGA Personnel Security Appeals Board process.
• Coordinate with CIO-T to schedule conference rooms and prepare visitor requests.
• Act as custodian of PSAB laptops and prepare PSAB opening remarks and voting sheets.
