About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Personnel Security Specialist Level 4 to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Springfield, VA. The role involves providing direct support to the PERSEC Division Chief and managing contractor support to the established PERSEC Division. The specialist will ensure timely security support to Personnel Security’s internal and external tasks, projects, and programs. Responsibilities include documenting and managing contractor team members' Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions, training contractor staff, providing backup support during vacancies, and keeping the Government Division Chief and other stakeholders informed about staffing changes and training plans. The specialist will also monitor security compliance, prepare security procedures, and provide technical expertise in personnel security disciplines.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance and willingness to undergo a polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field to personnel security.
  • Extensive experience in personnel security (11-14 years) in the DOD/IC.
  • Experience leading personnel security programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with clear and concise writing skills.
  • Positive, engaging communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet required timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to PERSEC Division Chief.
  • Lead and manage contractor support to established PERSEC Division.
  • Ensure timely security support to Personnel Security’s internal and external tasks.
  • Document and manage contractor team members' Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions.
  • Train contractor staff on PERSEC operating procedures.
  • Provide backup support during contractor vacancies.
  • Keep Government Division Chief and POCs informed of staffing changes and training plans.
  • Monitor and manage supported security programs and operations.
  • Assist and coordinate with internal and external customers.
  • Provide agency level technical expertise in personnel security disciplines.
  • Monitor security compliance with PERSEC guidelines.
  • Research, prepare, and maintain security procedures and guidance.
  • Analyze complex data for contractors using DoD and IC regulations.
  • Design and develop report capabilities and generate security metrics reports.
  • Support the NGA Personnel Security Appeals Board process.
  • Coordinate with PSAB Board Members for scheduling hearings.
  • Prepare visitor requests and assemble PSAB appeal folders.
