About the Role: We are seeking a senior perception (computer vision & machine learning) engineer with experience in robotics to develop vision algorithms for our beauty experience automation. This role is critical to enabling fast and accurate detection, tracking, and classification in a novel consumer service environment. This is a hands-on role: you will select and adapt state-of-the-art methods and apply them to our custom built, high speed four manipulator robotic system. The LUUM Robots feature an array of highly customized actuation and machine vision – both classical and neural network based – to precisely manipulate and attach the tiny extension fibers onto natural eyelashes. In more than eight years of development, we’ve assembled many of the pieces of this difficult puzzle – enough to provide real services to thousands of paying repeat customers – and now we’re looking to expand our team to advance the technology even further. Our newly deployed fourth generation system includes more actuated degrees of freedom and far more autonomy than leading surgical robots, producing an array of engineering challenges unique in the field.
