About The Position

The Senior People Change Management Consultant role offers a unique opportunity to use change management tools and techniques to support HR-driven change management initiatives. The Senior Consultant will lead the design and delivery of change management practices to ensure people impacts and risks are identified, considered and resolved throughout a project’s lifecycle. They will also share their knowledge and expertise on change management practices to provide training and support to HR colleagues on change management value, methodology, tools and templates to build capacity within the HR division.

Requirements

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree (Business, Organizational Behaviour or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in change management and leading an organization in the development and administration of change management programs and projects, preferably in the public sector.
  • Expertise in change management practices, principles, and methodologies – demonstrating a solid understanding of how people go through change.
  • Experience in influencing business leaders towards cultural change and negotiating the introduction of new concepts.
  • Expertise in external consulting, facilitating and coaching leaders at all levels.
  • MS Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Office, Visio).
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Understanding of organizational change issues and challenges.
  • Exceptional Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills adaptable to a variety of audiences.

  • Change Management Professional Certification/Designation would be an asset.
  • Process Improvement Certification/Designation would be an asset.
  • Organizational Design and Change would be an asset.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation and coaching to leaders across Metrolinx as part of change management projects, committees and activities undertaken by various departments to ensure people change management impacts and risks are identified, considered and resolved throughout the project.
  • Builds capabilities of others to lead and manage change
  • Develop and support the development of communications, training and engagement tactics to disseminate key messages effectively to identified stakeholder groups.
  • Supports project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.
  • Conducts assessments and informs the development of change strategies and plans to ensure a structured methodology and approach are applied to people change management and aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Facilitates the development and use of performance metrics to define, measure and report on the progress and success of change and impacts to people.
  • Conducts impact analysis, assesses and reports on change effectiveness on assigned project.
  • Develops and/or delivers presentations, training and information sessions on change management methodology, use of tools, performance metrics, dashboards and templates and to build awareness and capacity regarding people change management across the organization.
  • Works with the Senior Manager in the development of tools, training curriculum, templates and other materials to support employees and colleagues in a consistent and structured approach to people change management.
  • Leads change management projects, as required.
  • Provides stakeholders with change management expertise, coaching and guidance to influence and ensure people change is considered in all change initiatives, projects and activities.
  • Builds awareness and capacity in organization change management through promotion, training, information sessions and presentations.
  • Guides others in the performance of their day-to-day activities without direct supervisory responsibility.
