About The Position

The Senior People Business Partner at AssetMark, plays a critical leadership role in driving the strategic HR initiative, guiding senior leaders, and shaping organizational effectiveness across the business. This position requires a seasoned HR professional with a strong consultative presence, a track record of influencing executive decision-making, and the ability to lead through complexity with agility and sound judgement. The ideal candidate is an independent self-starter who takes the initiative to improve processes and resolve issues before they arise, while performing professionally in a fast-paced environment with composure and willingness to change direction quickly when needed. We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Phoenix, AZ office.

  • Strong Organizational Design skills (experience in Succession Planning, Talent management, Facilitation, Organizational Design)

  • Results orientated & highly motivated to demonstrate effective execution
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 7+ years of Human Resources experience; ideally within the Financial Services sector
  • Strong relationship management experience, consulting skills and demonstrable evidence of influence at a senior level.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leadership, enabling business growth and organizational effectiveness through proactive HR strategies.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, managing risk and driving equitable outcomes.
  • Partner with functional and executive leadership to diagnose organizational needs, design tailored development strategies, and implement scalable HR solutions.
  • Deliver core HR processes effectively, including performance management, promotions, terminations, investigations, and leaves of absence.
  • Drive enterprise-wide talent initiatives such as succession planning, leadership development, and workforce planning.
  • Collaborate with L&D and HR teams to implement employee and manager development programs, focus groups, and organizational design efforts.
  • Drive accountability and actively manage quarterly Check-ins, headcount reviews, Org & Leadership reviews, Goal setting and Compensation planning within your client group
  • Represent HR in leadership meetings and contribute to business strategy from a people and culture perspective.
  • Guide decision-making by considering broader business implications and evaluating multiple alternatives.
  • Lead change management initiatives to foster adaptability and organizational resilience.
  • Coach and mentor junior HR team members, contributing to a high-performing HR function.
