About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to manage and inspire our Payroll shared services team. This role involves overseeing and guiding the payroll operations and payroll tax teams in operations related to payroll activities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. This position demands strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities to manage the day-to-day operations of the Shared Services Center payroll team, enhance processes, and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in payroll management in large, multiple entity, multi-state environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and software, such as SAP, ADP, Workforce, Viewpoint, or similar.
  • Experience in a large payroll processing or contact center preferred.
  • PC literate: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and mainframe payroll application experience.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to adapt to changing and process driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Able to communicate with others by telephone and in person.
  • Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.
  • Proven track record of identifying and driving continuous improvement in payroll operations.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with evolving responsibilities.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with existing payroll management team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of payroll services to CRH Americas Materials 54 operating entities.
  • Assume a leadership role in the transition of payroll from Viewpoint to SAP EC Payroll and ADP.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of SAP and ADP software for processing, wage attachment, and tax services.
  • Partner with operating companies and business partners (Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll) to evaluate and improve processes.
  • Maintain and administer payroll software, ensuring data integrity and system stability.
  • Analyze management reports to measure performance against KPIs and SLA.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and tax laws, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize payroll processing and improve the employee experience.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service, addressing employee concerns and resolving issues effectively.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff on payroll procedures, system updates, and customer service skills.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
