About The Position

As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you are a key member of the Roku Payroll Operations team focused on delivering an exceptional payroll end-user experience. You will work across departments and geographies, interacting with our partners and peers across the entire People Shared Service Organization, IT, Accounting, and international offices. This is a hybrid role, you are expected to be present in our office for 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or other related field or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience is required, preferably within a multi-state organization utilizing Workday payroll.
  • Experience with Workday reports.
  • Experience in ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Experience processing Stock (RSU, ISO, and NQ).
  • Hands-on payroll experience with multi-state and multi-company payroll required, including time and attendance management.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Thorough understanding of current payroll tax laws and regulations, including multi-states, local, and federal tax law requirements.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities; effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, use discretion and manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent internal customer service and detail oriented.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and audit of US Regular on-cycle, off-cycle, and equity transactions within the Workday payroll system.
  • Includes all forms of compensation and deductions processed on a bi-weekly or ad hoc basis for the exempt and non-exempt employee population.
  • Ensure all employee earnings and deductions, at point of final calculation, are accurate and are made in compliance with internal policies, payroll tax and legal requirements.
  • Maintain detailed source documentation and reports around the payroll audit process.
  • Assist in monitoring, updating and reconciling tax rates across multiple systems as required.
  • Ensures timely reporting and payment of the employer's and employees' withholding taxes and miscellaneous withholdings to appropriate agencies.
  • Assist with payroll compliance matters such as multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, garnishments and key annual audits and quarterly reconciliations.
  • Participate in the preparation, reconciliation and validation of accurate year end payroll processes and subsequent W-2 reporting.
  • Responsible for preparation, reconciliation and execution of cash movements for employee benefits (FSA/Dependent Care/HSA/401k).
  • Assist in implementing, writing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports as needed by various internal departments such as accounting, legal and equity.
  • Resolve escalated payroll issues timely providing expert payroll knowledge utilizing internal ticketing and support systems.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, wage tax laws, segregation of duties, SOX and other federal and state legislation impacting payroll.
  • Assist in updating payroll processing related controls and narratives and accurately represent current best practices.
  • Recognize opportunities and recommend scalable processes to enhance payroll operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
  • Support business process strategies for end-to-end Payroll processes to achieve efficiency, productivity and improved control.
  • Participate in cross training across various international payroll processes to ensure coverage during vacation and peak processing times.
  • Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Payroll Director.
