About The Position

Structural Group, Inc., develops and integrates products, engineering support, repair and maintenance services to provide value-added solutions to owners, engineers and contractors. With over 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets, we serve the Commercial, Public, Transportation Industrial, and Power markets to tackle the toughest construction challenges. As a Senior Payroll Accountant, you will be accountable for processing weekly payroll for many employees over multiple divisions and companies. You will be a member of a payroll team that supports 11 payroll companies for over 2,500 employees. This is a high growth position with the ability to lead a team in the future. A typical day in the life of our Senior Payroll Accountant may include: Setting up and maintaining new employee records in the payroll system (COINS) Maintaining employee deductions and direct deposit information Calculating bonuses, retroactive pay adjustments and allowances Preparing and submitting weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly payroll tax files to ADP. Preparing prevailing wage reports and related payments Preparing and submitting weekly payroll-related data to third-party Canadian payroll processor Entering payroll hours, performing check edits, printing checks and coordinating their weekly distribution Communicating with branch team members in offices throughout the U.S. and Canada Managing the reconciliation process for several payroll general ledger accounts Assist with year-end payroll activities including W2's, T4's and other tax reporting Support process improvements and system enhancements related to payroll operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience processing payroll for multiple entities – ideally in multiple states
  • Previous experience with using Workday
  • Previous experience processing a weekly payroll (in-house highly preferred)
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products – particularly Excel

Responsibilities
