In this role, you will support the Targets and Countermeasures Program Office by delivering integrated technical and programmatic guidance to Targets Program Managers and Chief Engineers. You will provide expert technical support in monitoring and evaluating the performance of MDA prime contractors and target providers to ensure their products and activities meet program requirements. This position also plays a key role in planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing target-related technical program activities.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate technical information to the non-technical members of the program office to support programmatic mission.
  • Can work independently and/or lead teams to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and have the individual flexibility to work multiple actions simultaneously and resolve time-sensitive issues.
  • Strong communication skills include oral, written, and briefing.
  • Demonstrated capabilities and experience in missile systems, technical program planning, test and execution.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Understanding of IR/RCS signatures of payloads and countermeasures.
  • Experience with material properties and material property measurements.
  • Knowledge of ADP threat systems and how those impact target designs.
  • Have an understanding of MDA MDS flight test requirements and apply that to the payload hardware development.
  • Technical proposal development and evaluation.
  • Master's degree and 12+ years working on payloads or countermeasures for DoD programs, or a Bachelor's degree and 20+ years working on payloads or countermeasures for DoD programs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for the Missile Defense Agency’s Targets Program Office, providing comprehensive support in the design and analysis of payloads and countermeasures.
  • Overseeing the development of payload and countermeasure requirements; conducting independent assessments of prime contractor designs; and delivering technical reviews and recommendations on design and development artifacts such as reports, analyses, and procedures.
  • Provide detailed technical evaluations of target instrumentation—including requirements, layout, instrumentation types, and test methodologies—and support the Program Office across all major program reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRB, MRB, PAR, System Pedigree Review, Total Program Reviews, and all related TIMs.
  • Support Technical Team requests by supplying design data such as CAD models, materials, and hardware for signature testing and model development. Collaborate with the program scheduler to ensure delivery milestones are met and keep the Program Manager informed of progress. Perform other duties as assigned.
