About The Position
We are seeking a Senior Pastor who will provide spiritual leadership, vision, and guidance to the church community of Wayside Baptist Church in Miami, FL with a congregation of about 300. The elected candidate will be an effective communicator, able to clearly articulate the church's vision, mission, and values to diverse audiences, including congregation members, staff, and community leaders. He will possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to preach, teach, and inspire our congregation to deepen their faith and live out their calling. The Senior Pastor will be responsible for encouraging and equipping lay ministry teams and congregation members to fulfill the church's goals and vision. This includes preaching, teaching, and shepherding the congregation through weekly services and other opportunities. The role also involves overseeing and collaborating with staff and volunteer teams to facilitate weekly worship services and other church ministries, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with the church's vision and mission. Additionally, the Senior Pastor will lead and develop ministerial staff, deacons, and team leaders to achieve their goals and objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth. Pastoral care is a significant aspect of this role, as the Senior Pastor will provide shepherding needs to the church body, including counseling, weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties. Compliance with church bylaws and denominational organizations is also essential, ensuring that the church operates within its established guidelines.
