Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As a Senior Parts Orders Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of division of workflow for Operations, Customer Service, Carriers and other Traffic employees to help accomplish assigned responsibilities. Additional Information: This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation or sponsorship This role is 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday with rotational weekend coverage This role is 100% on-site with no opportunities for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 10% domestic travel

Requirements

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience (or equivalent knowledge) in Operations, Expediting, Purchasing, and Traffic
  • Strong communication skills with personnel at all levels, including suppliers and transportation carriers
  • Strong PC skills (Office 365, Outlook)
  • Strong EWM and yard management experience
  • Flexibility to work overtime, off‑shifts, and a monthly Saturday rotation
  • Associate degree or prior logistics experience
  • Good knowledge of material flow through Morton
  • Familiarity with various Morton systems
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of materials and quality objectives
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level customer service on emergency outbound shipments
  • Assist Customer Service, Inbound, Receiving, CP’s, & various logistics teams to improve velocity for dealer special requests
  • Investigate & resolve delays in route management; recommend or initiate changes to resolve related issues & improve deliveries
  • Create shipping documents for premium carriers using the EWM system and Caterpillar Commercial Invoices and BOL
  • Edit bills of lading when needed to ensure information is complete and accurate
  • Create other shipping documents as needed including Dangerous Goods documentation, shippers export declaration and proof of delivery
  • Providing support in the selection of carriers
  • Processing and shipping urgently needed parts ensuring import/export orders are shipped according to contract, regulations and company policies, etc.
  • Manage Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process for all transportation lanes
  • Establish relationships within the multimodal transportation network, compliant with the Caterpillar Code of Conduct
  • Responding to customer service teams calls and providing necessary information and assistance to complete orders
  • Monitor and manage velocity metrics associated with 2nd shift emergency routes.
