Start your Voyage – Get to Know the Opportunity: This position supports the Workplace Solution legal function, with particular emphasis on SEC filings for annuity products. The senior paralegal will work closely with other paralegals, staff and external counsel, compliance personnel, and business partners. Work may range in complexity depending upon the nature of the products and changes to regulatory requirements. The Contributions You'll Make: Responsible for project management and preparation of annual post-effective updates and supplementary filings for group variable annuity product registration statements in compliance with the 1933 Act and 1940 Act using Form N-4; incorporate edits, organize and review documents to meet SEC filing deadlines technical requirements. Experience with initial and updating summary prospectuses (ISPs and USPs) in accordance with SEC Rule 498A. Maintain internal calendar to meet timelines for annual registration statement filings. Draft communication to regulators and liaison with the corporate secretary’s office to establish Power of Attorneys, as well as coordinate director and officer information. Coordinate with the investment management counterparts to properly disclose any fund changes, mergers or liquidations. Conduct periodic quality audits of fund information contained in prospectuses to ensure adherence to SEC requirements. Liaison with staff attorney, external counsel, business units, compliance and actuaries/pricing to ensure language and information is accurately incorporated. Capable of delivering a high volume of work with aggressive timelines in a highly regulated environment. Evaluate potential process efficiencies, including the use of AI, etc. Oversee document productions to ensure relevant documents are securely transmitted to external entities using the proper technical specifications.
