We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Paralegal who takes initiative, anticipates the needs of the legal team, and ensures that every phase of estate administration and litigation runs smoothly.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through.
  • High emotional intelligence and patience when dealing with grieving or stressed families.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal, specifically within Probate, Estate Planning, or Trust Administration.
  • Must hold a Certificate of Completion from an ABA-approved paralegal program, in compliance with the California Business and Professions Code.
  • Strong familiarity with California probate procedures, local court rules, and e-filing systems.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience with timekeeping software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a diverse caseload of probate matters from opening to closing. This includes trust administration, estate planning, and conservatorships, ensuring all filings are accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and review advanced legal documents, including Petitions for Probate, Inventories and Appraisals, Accounts, and various Judicial Council forms with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, and financial institutions regarding case status. Communicate court procedures and legal requirements in a clear, empathetic manner.
  • Assist attorneys in all phases of probate litigation, including discovery, deposition preparation, exhibit management, and trial preparation.
  • Work alongside attorneys to develop case strategies and provide guidance to junior staff, helping to maintain our high standards of accuracy and client care.
