About The Position

A leading fintech company is seeking a Senior Paralegal with extensive in -house experience to manage customer disputes, regulatory complaints, and pre -litigation matters. This position plays a vital role in supporting the legal team’s efforts to resolve issues efficiently while protecting the company’s interests. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA, requiring local candidates only. The Senior Paralegal will serve as the primary point of contact for managing customer disputes and regulatory matters, overseeing investigations, and assisting with all stages of litigation. This hands -on role is ideal for a self -starter who thrives in a fast -paced environment and enjoys working cross -functionally with legal, compliance, and operations teams to drive resolution and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of combined experience in customer dispute resolution and litigation, with a focus on pre -litigation case management.
  • Proven in -house legal experience supporting business operations or compliance.
  • Strong background in managing investigations, evidence collection, and fact organization.
  • Experience working directly with external counsel on litigation and discovery matters.
  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets).
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery tools, billing systems, and invoice management platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer disputes, pre -litigation matters, and regulatory complaints from intake to resolution.
  • Lead internal investigations by gathering records, organizing facts, and building clear case timelines.
  • Prepare responses to complaints, legal holds, discovery objections, continuance requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with litigation counsel to assist with pleadings, motions, discovery, case management, and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up -to -date case files, tracking deadlines and producing regular reports and metrics.
  • Create playbooks, templates, and procedures to streamline dispute resolution workflows.
  • Conduct research on non -complex legal issues and provide practical recommendations for action.
  • Respond to subpoenas, liens, and other discovery requests to support the broader legal team.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including customer service, payments, and risk teams to ensure timely and accurate case handling.
