About The Position

Rustica is seeking a Senior Painter to bring our custom wood doors and components to life through exceptional finishing. This role is critical to delivering the high-end quality Rustica is known for, ensuring each piece meets our standards while contributing to process improvements and overall efficiency within the paint department.

Requirements

  • Proven experience painting wood and metal surfaces, preferably in a production environment
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and color matching
  • Ability to lead by example and support the development of other team members
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership over finished product quality
  • Process-minded with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally and stand for 8+ hours per day

Responsibilities

  • Apply high-end finishes on wood and metal doors and door components
  • Oversee final door and component prep and paint application, including paint mixing, spraying, and use of varnish, enamel, lacquers, and other finishes
  • Ensure quality standards are met on every product and address rework as needed
  • Help train and guide painters on techniques, standards, and best practices
  • Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment and tools
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Support production schedules and help ensure deadlines are met
