Job Summary Senior Package Performance Specialist (multiple openings) Position is located at 3300 Airport Road, Denton, TX 76207. 70% domestic and international travel required. Telecommuting permitted one week per every 2 months. Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position. What you will do As a Senior Package Performance Specialist, you will: Be responsible for maintaining and operating process equipment and technologies, ensuring proper package forming. Serve as the primary technical contact for our equipment, including Aseptic Technology. Act as the main consultant for raw materials for customers and Cluster Senior Package Performance Specialists. Perform technical duties to support field tests for equipment and technologies. Monitor equipment performance, drive maintenance through measurement and benchmarking, root cause analysis, and proactive customer interactions. Provide technical support and feedback to facilitate shared learning, including coordinating internal knowledge-sharing workshops. Monitor machine updates for equipment and recommend appropriate marketing implementations. Analyze equipment upgrade kits, prepare business cases to promote their use by customers, and track local solutions and modifications to share with customers. Ensure accurate maintenance of all documentation, including regulatory documents related to equipment, technology, and materials. Lead the technical resolution of complex escalated issues remotely or on-site, collaborating with professional colleagues and supervisors. Assume ownership of packaging procedures and guidelines to support markets and customers. Participate in technical processes related to Package Performance and technology concept screening, including setting requirements, supporting risk assessments, and advising on test/evaluation methods. Represent Tetra Pak to customers by applying relevant competencies related to markets and customers. Contribute to defining corporate standards and acceptance criteria relevant to the business. Lead and deliver competence development plans for regional packaging specialists, including leading technical trainings. Collaborate with central organizations to continuously develop competencies, mentor and coach other specialists, and train relevant Tetra Pak staff in package performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in food packaging performance, production, quality control, or quality assurance. Alternatively, will accept 8 years of experience in food packaging performance, production, quality control, or quality assurance.
  • Must also have work experience in: 1. Mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, and thermodynamics) and packaging technologies (Aseptic and Chilled liquid food packaging);
  • Assessing packaging performance and material integrity using laboratory equipment;
  • Material Science including polymers, paperboard, and aluminum;
  • Analyzing barrier properties, recyclability, or biodegradability of materials;
  • Sealing and heating technologies for packaging materials, including induction heating and hot air;
  • Root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, or six sigma; and
  • Data acquisition systems, Microsoft Excel (macros and pivot tables), data visualization, and statistical techniques for sampling and performance analysis.
