The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Operations Specialist to join our Operations team in our Salem, VA office or remotely nationwide. The Senior Operations Specialist understands and puts into practice effective methods to provide functional areas with internal consulting services, related to process quality and service improvement initiatives. Through problem-solving, training, process workflow analysis and procedure compliance auditing this role will help establish and support a proactive, dynamic and customer-focused Operations environment. The Senior Operations Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to: Works directly with field and corporate management to translate business strategies and requirements into focused business processes. Documents current operating environment and conducts interviews to identify areas for potential improvement. Researches business issues/problems concepts and recommends alternative solutions. Develops and implements streamlined, standardized and efficient work processes with support from others. Participates in the identification of training needs across the organization in collaboration with other team members.  Develops reference and training materials, for operations, work processes and systems. May support the delivery of training to field management and associates on new business processes. Develops proposals that outline the work to be accomplished on small to medium sized projects. Manages entire work effort or segment as required. Conducts meetings and presentations. Maintains confidentiality of material being analyzed. Provides proactive analysis of transactional, policy and premium data to identify trends in service and/or premium plans. Performs compliance reviews for adherence to operating procedures and state insurance department regulations. Participates in the on-boarding of new programs, segments, or businesses. Understands the organization and business environment. Maintains current knowledge of insurance industry developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related insurance or specialty lines experience.  Experience including researching, developing and implementing processes and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU).
