About The Position

As a Senior Operations Planning Analyst supporting Boston Scientific’s Tier 1 U.S. Distribution Centers, you will apply advanced analytical and data science techniques to optimize operational performance, product flow, and storage systems. You will play a critical role in driving efficiency across our distribution network by developing models, analyzing capacity and inventory strategies, and supporting the design and implementation of future technologies and capabilities. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, attention to detail, and a passion for driving process improvements within a fast-paced supply chain environment. Work model, sponsorship, relocation: At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree focused in Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Operations, Distribution Center/Warehousing, and/or Logistics (including internships).
  • Experience or training with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience or training with ETL and data visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Experience or training with coding languages such as SQL, Python, or R.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years' experience in Operations, Distribution Center/Warehousing, and/or Logistics.
  • Experience at Boston Scientific in relevant operational areas.
  • Experience in Medical Device or other FDA-regulated environments.
  • Experience or training with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience or training with Labor Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience or training in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience or training in project management.
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Advanced expertise with ETL and data visualization tools.
  • Advanced experience with SQL, Python, or R.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and implement inventory strategies focused on capacity, storage, and slotting to meet business unit objectives.
  • Perform advanced quantitative analysis using Operations Research methodologies, mathematical modeling, and AI to improve product flow and operational performance.
  • Provide both ad-hoc and routine reporting on inventory, velocity, transactions, and capacity within U.S. Distribution Centers.
  • Evaluate and revise system processes to simplify transactions and reduce operating costs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand operational needs and ensure optimal processing and movement of product.
  • Support the development and implementation of future technologies and processes across current and future Distribution Centers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in storage and capacity management systems.
  • Partner with business system experts to develop system enhancements for operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a consistent commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining adherence to Boston Scientific’s Quality Policy and procedures.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are maintained to comply with the Quality System and Quality Policy.
  • Promote a quality-focused work environment aligned with organizational standards.
