About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager with 10+ years of experience as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) and Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSLS) to join our team in WGI’s Houston, TX office. The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading and executing business development and growth initiatives for the firm’s Geospatial Division (Surveying, SUE/UC, and Remote Sensing) including establishing and growing the firm’s LSLS service line. This role focuses on building and expanding relationships and contract opportunities with State and regional stakeholders to expand geospatial services. This position collaborates closely with other firm and Division leaders and business development teams to position the firm as a trusted partner for integrated, multi-discipline solutions supporting infrastructure and coastal programs. In this position, you will act as a Senior Operations Manager in the execution of various public and private sector geospatial assignments. You will direct teams of technicians and field crews to complete large-scale public and private works improvement projects, while coordinating responsibilities with other discipline leads at WGI. Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geomatics, Engineering, Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, or related field preferred.
Texas RPLS & LSLS Licensure required.
10+ years of experience as an RPLS and 1+ years of experience as an LSLS
8+ years in progressive leadership roles overseeing geospatial teams or programs.
Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, budgets, and operational metrics.
Proven track record of delivering complex geospatial programs with strong financial results.

Certifications such as PMP, ASPRS certifications, or other relevant credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

Support and lead business development efforts
Lead, mentor, and manage team members through continuous performance management to include goal setting, coaching, feedback and one-on-one meetings
Collaborate with other departments and discipline leads in scheduling objectives and project milestones
Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and professional growth
Represent the firm professionally in meetings with existing and prospective clients, and at industry events and conferences
Oversee and execute land surveying activities, including boundary analysis for large-scale corridor, route, and commercial land surveys
Manage project time-lines and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to project deliverables
Sign and seal surveys, maps, and other survey-related documents as the responsible professional
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Promote and enforce safe work practices for team members
Perform in-process quality control of survey field activities, calculations, and project deliverables
