About The Position

The Senior Operations Manager role provides broad leadership responsibility across manufacturing operations, with authority to shape priorities, strengthen performance, and ensure consistent execution. This leader will guide experienced teams, drive measurable improvement across quality, delivery, and cost, and reinforce a culture of safety, accountability and ownership. The right candidate brings sound operational judgment, credibility with frontline and leadership teams, and the ability to balance near‑term execution with long‑term capability building in a stable, growth‑oriented ESOP environment. The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial stewardship of the manufacturing facility within Weller Truck Parts. This role has full responsibility for facility performance, including operational execution, people development, and profit and loss (P&L) results. As a leader in an employee-owned company, the Sr. Operations Manager is expected to model and reinforce an ownership mindset, ensuring that day-to-day decisions align with long-term value creation for Associate-Owners. The role requires strong operational leadership, financial discipline, transparency, and a commitment to engaging and developing people at all levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (required).
  • 6-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and full P&L accountability.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-department manufacturing teams and complex operations.
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the facility with a strong stewardship and ownership mindset, reinforcing the principles of employee ownership and shared accountability.
  • Translate corporate and plant objectives into measurable daily/weekly goals.
  • Foster a culture of trust, transparency, accountability and engagement consistent with an ESOP environment.
  • Educate and engage leaders and Associate-Owners on how plant performance, financial results, and continuous improvement efforts impact ESOP value.
  • Manage and lead all manufacturing operations and/or Production Managers, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and administrative functions.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations that meet production, quality, deliver, cost and customer requirements.
  • Drive productivity improvements, waste reduction, and operational excellence using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Oversee capacity planning, equipment utilization, preventative maintenance, and execution of capital projects.
  • Maintain full P&L responsibility for the manufacturing facility.
  • Manage to approve annual operating budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Analyze financial results, cost drivers, and performance variances; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead cost-reduction, margin improvement, and working-capital initiatives that support sustainable ESOP value growth.
  • Evaluate and approve capital expenditures, ensuring sound financial justification, ROI, and alignment with long-term ownership goals.
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to clearly communicate financial performance in a way that is understandable and meaningful to Associate-Owners.
  • Establish and track KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, engagement, and financial performance.
  • Lead structured continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, consistency, and Associate-Owner involvement.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and clear follow-up on commitments.
  • Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong leaders and teams across the manufacturing facilities.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a strong leadership team including Production Manager, Team Leaders and Line Leaders.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build leadership capabilities and succession.
  • Foster high engagement by connecting individual roles to organizational success and ESOP outcomes.
  • Sustain and strengthen the organization’s existing operating foundation related to safety and a respectful work environment, while proactively addressing gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead in a manner that reinforces safety, trust, and respect ensuring a work environment where Associate-Owners feel valued and empowered to contribute to continuous improvement and shares success.
  • Support customer audits, plant visits, and continuous improvement partnerships.
  • Represent the facility and organization positively in the local community.
  • Actively support and lead the use of the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operation System) to reinforce clarify, discipline and accountability.
  • Lead and participate in EOS tools such as Scorecards, Rocks, level 10 Meetings and quarterly and annual planning sessions.
  • Ensure operational goals, financial results, and people priorities align with company wide EOS and ESOP objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
