Position Summary: The Senior Operations Manager oversees daily operations and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, and a proven ability to drive teams toward achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational goals. The position requires adaptability and a strong execution mindset to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding PE-backed company at a new production facility.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations, production, or plant management.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean manufacturing principles in a production or operational environment.
  • Experience leading teams to achieve KPIs and operational performance goals.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, operational software, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Hands-on approach with a passion for workforce development.

  • Experience in establishing new manufacturing lines and process flow.
  • Experience in high‑volume manufacturing or HVAC industry

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently met.
  • Communicate performance results and improvement plans to leadership and functional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operations and business priorities.
  • Ensuring all employees follow safety procedures and PPE standards
  • Managing using LPA – Layered Process Audits
  • Monitoring KPIs related to safety incidents or near misses
  • Ensuring workforce performance, training, and skill development
  • Ensuring the efficient planning of labor, equipment, and materials
  • Managing throughput and line balancing
  • Monitoring production performance vs. plan
  • Overseeing inspection, testing, and defect reduction initiatives
  • Ensuring root cause analysis is completed (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone)
  • Driving continuous improvement in First Pass Yield (FPY)
  • Managing raw material flow into the assembly line
  • Ensuring accurate inventory levels at the line i.e. Kanban
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals, integrating Lean principles.
  • Lead Lean initiatives such as MDI, 5S, Kaizen, value-stream mapping, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement activities focused on reducing waste and increasing value creation.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach operations staff to achieve high performance and meet KPI expectations.
  • Establish clear performance goals and hold team members accountable through structured reviews, feedback, and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
