About The Position

The American Nurses Enterprise (ANE) is seeking to hire a Senior Operations Manager, American Nurses Credentialling Center (ANCC). The Senior Operations Manager, ANCC, provides independent content expertise and analysis for the Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) and Joint Accreditation Programs as Senior Operations Manager to applicants, commissioners, appraisers, accredited organizations, Accreditation Program, and the ANCC office staff. The Senior Operations Manager, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), will work in close partnership with the ANCC program leadership (Senior Director, Director, and/or Assistant Director), as well as other confidential teams, when applicable, to support and collaborate on developing highly sensitive content for current and future ANCC lines of effort and communications. Access, control, and oversight of these programmatic functions are highly restricted within ANCC, and this program manager will assist ANCC leaders in formulating, determining, and implementing ANCC policies and procedures, including authoring and handling highly sensitive and confidential information. Serves as a subject matter expert on program requirements, providing strategic guidance, comprehensive coordination, effective communication, and support to domestic and international organizations throughout all stages of the application process. The visibility of this position requires the incumbent to be an experienced leader, comfortable with independent decision-making, project management, and coordination with all aspects of the program. The visibility of this position in the Continuing Professional Development community requires the incumbent to be an experienced leader, comfortable with independent decision-making, project leadership, and coordination with all aspects of the program. The incumbent should be well-connected to the continuing education community, valuing and cultivating professional contacts to strengthen and expand the Accreditation vision across their areas of expertise. This position embodies the Accreditation Program by teaching, coaching, and supporting Accreditation applicants and appraisers for the NCPD and Joint Accreditation Programs as they pursue excellence in professional development. The Senior Operations Manager is accountable for the department's operational support under the strategic direction of the Sr. Director. Operational responsibilities include but are not limited to: overseeing the NCPD and Joint Accreditation Programs to ensure all applicants for accreditation are reviewed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner; managing the appraiser pool for the NCPD and Joint Accreditation Programs including the application process, on-boarding and training, and annual performance evaluation and competency assessment of appraisers; managing other staff, intermittent employees and independent contractors who directly support the NCPD and Joint Accreditation Programs; and supporting currently accredited organizations through activities that may include but are not limited to developing tools and resources, conducting workshops and webinars, and developing template documents. The Senior Operations Manager may also represent the Assistant Director or Sr. Director as needed in their absence. Requirements

  • Unencumbered Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Master's degree or higher.
  • A baccalaureate degree must be in nursing.
  • Minimum of (6) years as an operations manager
  • A strong relationship builder with a history of collaborating successfully with a broad and diverse range of individuals and communities.
  • Ability to work well independently and think critically within a high-performing team and inspire others to work toward achieving common goals.
  • Experience in problem-solving and managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the program and leadership team to ensure high-quality customer resources and satisfaction.
  • Provides expert knowledge, assessment, and recommendations for the ongoing development and revision of ANCC publications, established programmatic standards, services, processes, policies, and procedures, special projects, and strategic planning.
  • Serves as a resource with extensive knowledge of the ANCC for management, coordination, communication, assistance, guidance, leadership, and support for organizations, domestic and international, throughout all phases of an application.
  • Independently interfaces with the Accreditation program appraisers and Joint Accreditation surveyors, coordinating and managing the appraisal process, including onboarding, assessing adherence and compliance to the Accreditation criteria, and maintaining ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinates the multifaceted appraisal process, managing the client’s application from initial application to decision.
  • Coordinating ANCC Accreditation operations for the Joint Accreditation Program to include identifying and training appraisers and surveyors; supporting coordination of and participating in the review process; and supporting development of tools and resources for the Joint Accreditation Program.
  • Providing information, documentation, and recommendations so the COA-NCPD can make informed decisions regarding the Accreditation Program. Collaborates with COA-NCPD members.
  • Contributes anticipatory guidance and professional expertise for strategic planning and high-level decisions impacting the Accreditation Program.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of demographic information from ANCC criteria, financial considerations, and quality indicators, interfaces with ANCC appraisers, and coordinates the appraisal process.
  • Prepare content for a wide range of formats and settings, including conferences, board meetings, internal updates, stakeholder outreach, and executive and confidential communications.
  • Use critical analysis to determine when consultation is needed, working with the Sr. Director and/or Assistant Director, as well as other experts such as the Office of General Counsel, Researchers, Informatics Specialists, and other subject-matter advisors.
  • Provides independent analysis, expert guidance, and innovative problem-solving strategies to organizations in relation to the application of ANCC Standards and requirements while addressing unique organizational contexts.
  • Analyzing accreditation application decisions to identify factors affecting the success of applications and to develop methods that help applicant organizations achieve accreditation while improving the quality and integrity of continuing nursing education.
  • Developing a community of accredited organizations through creating and providing multiple vehicles to share programmatic information, best practices, recognizing superior program performance, and positively impacting the competency of nurses.
  • Will handle confidential information sources, content sources, as well as intimate content development directly as a member of the ANCC program leadership team.
  • Coordination of ANCC program-related activities as designated by the Sr. Director and/or Assistant Director (e.g., commission meetings, and associated responsibilities, reconsiderations/appeals, complaints)
  • Responsible for driving program compliance of ISO 9001:2015, including associated program activities such as policies and procedures updates or operational improvements.
  • Assist with the collection of metrics for the quality dashboard, and preparation of board reports and documents presented to the designated ANCC Commission and the Board of Directors, authoring and handling highly sensitive information.
  • Support program leadership to develop executive-level communications, including speeches, presentations, letters, and internal/external messages, as well as sensitive content and information required for executive engagement.
  • Collaborating within the designated ANCC program to assess the learning needs of applicant organizations, both initial and re-designation, as well as organizations in the Pre-Intent Program (if applicable).
  • Based on the identified learning needs, design and implement professional development that can be provided on multiple platforms, including webinars, calls, email correspondence, the website, onsite, and virtual workshops for program guidance, yearly program director meetings, and support ANCC seminars/conferences.
  • Serve as Nurse Planner in the American Nurses Association Accredited Provider department, as delegated by ANCC program leadership.
