About The Position
ShipMonk is seeking a Senior Manager of Fulfillment Center Operations with experience scaling high-performing teams to join us in delivering our promise to merchants: Stress Less, Grow More. The Senior Operations Manager establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. They ensure the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment is properly maintained and that work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are submitted to the appropriate persons. The role involves conferring with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as customer service and sales. Senior Operations Managers will ensure a safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeeping. They will effectively manage the budget and P&L of the operation, ensuring operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and systems. Additionally, they will partner with others to maintain the proper layout of the warehouse and product placement, monitor and ensure facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met, and ensure accurate timekeeping for direct reports and reporting teams. A top priority is to participate in the interviewing, hiring, and training of supervisory and hourly staff, planning, assigning, and directing work, and appraising performance to create a strong company culture. They will also address complaints and resolve problems, oversee warehouse sanitation, and identify when sanitation fails and the appropriate actions needed to correct it.
