About The Position

The ATC Operations Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. You will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in both short and long-term planning and on time delivery to the customer and contribute to the overall business strategy. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that plant execution consistently meets or exceeds performance targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing and / or Shop Operations (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing / shop operations)

  • Experience in inventory management, facilitation and production control

Responsibilities

  • Own the daily operations for the ATC to ensure reliability and consistency for manufacturing, quality/inspection lab & outside vendors.
  • Practice and coach FLIGHT DECK fundamentals to drive continuous improvement
  • Provides direction and leadership to multiple shop supervisors (& their teams), planners & production control. Help break down barrier/silos between teams.
  • Be one of the main focal points for communicating product/program status, strategies, risks and recommendations to customers and senior leaders
  • Establish effective performance measures that can be used to alert site leadership on delivery issues and potential late deliveries.
  • Coordinate, and if necessary, expedite the flow of materials & recovery planning actions where deviation to schedules exists
  • Manage the operations team in order to reach defined targets in safety, quality, delivery, & cost.
  • Drive cross functional collaboration (Manufacturing Engineering, Sourcing, suppliers, etc.) to identify issues which will affect delivery or inventory and drive proactive resolution using problem solving techniques
  • Be the focal point for prioritization on issues affecting delivery (i.e. MRB, constraints, allocations.)
  • Lead strategic planning. Analyze demand signals and how they affect the operation including changes that would be necessary and advise the business on the acceptability.
  • Spearhead capacity analysis.
  • Manage and monitor raw material input & usage, and work with sourcing to ensure full raw material availability to the operations in line with the schedule, covering both short and long-term horizons.
  • Review short and mid-term capacity utilization, working with Site leader to establish plans to ensure sufficient capacity and staffing is available to process the demand through each cell
  • Manage inventory effectively by ensuring aged WIP and slow-moving inventory is addressed. Work with peers to identify root cause and implement corrective actions and robust processes to eliminate reoccurrence
  • Lead and encourage process improvement through Lean Six Sigma
  • Manage Physical Inventory for the ATC
  • Drive process improvements and standardization using lean principles
  • Manage vouchering metrics, resource planning, and funding for your team
