Dow has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Operations IT Business Process Specialist located in Freeport, TX. About this Role The Senior Operations IT Business Process Specialist serves as a global Operations IT/OT subject matter expert, providing first- and second-level support for a defined set of global processes, procedures, and IT/OT applications. The role aligns with one or more Operations IT/OT technology disciplines and/or business process areas and supports adoption of best‑in-class, corporate-standard solutions across all businesses and sites. This role leads technical and work process support to enable effective use of enterprise processes and applications. It requires advanced expertise across processes, systems, and tools, as well as specialized technical knowledge in an analytics/scientific or operational domain to manage complex assignments. The position executes work aligned with the Operations IT/OT strategy and multi‑generation technology and business process plans to ensure optimal process capability and system performance. The role supports Operations and cross‑functional teams in delivering strategic technical, work process, and management system improvements across the corporate MET1 Operations IT/OT solution portfolio. This includes supporting MET2 (business) and MET3 (site) applications as defined by established agreements. This position is part of the Operations IT/OT organization, comprised of architecture, domain, and business process experts who collaborate across functions, disciplines, and businesses. The organization applies enterprise-level IT to enable end‑to-end business processes and digital threads for products and equipment, supporting Operations Excellence. The shared objective is to define, deliver, and sustain IT/OT solutions that provide optimal capability at minimal lifecycle cost while enabling safe, reliable, high-quality, and productive operations that support best‑in-class employee and customer experiences.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field or relevant military experience at an E6 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing and/or I/S-related experience is required.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Prior experience in maintenance, turnaround, reliability or related functions.
  • Prior experience in usage/administration/configuration of equipment monitoring solutions such as Bentley Nevada System 1, Emerson Machinery Health Manager, Prognost, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a global subject matter expert across all businesses and sites, providing guidance on system architecture, work processes, and management system best practices.
  • Ensure effective implementation and adoption of Operations IT/OT MET1 solutions within scope (e.g., plant maintenance tools, plant start-ups, new business implementations).
  • Execute strategies to manage and strengthen end‑user and super‑user networks, improving collaboration, system effectiveness, and overall IT/OT performance.
  • Lead and support the design, testing, and implementation of IT/OT applications and tools that support business processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Deliver innovative solutions during product remediation activities while ensuring compliance with MET1 standards.
  • Proactively analyze and address security risks and vulnerabilities, leading continuous improvement efforts to strengthen product and service security.
  • Coordinate stakeholder collaboration across projects, working with IT and cross‑functional partners to align solutions with organizational and security objectives.
  • Execute and monitor global user support strategies, including advanced training, consulting, metrics, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of IT/OT applications.
  • Ensure timely issue resolution and appropriate escalation when needed.
  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and use of job aids, training materials, metrics, and documentation related to systems, tools, and work processes.
  • Develop and monitor performance measures for system functionality, work processes, and application lifecycle management; lead gap closure and adoption improvement efforts.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, including training, documentation updates, metrics, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities.
  • Identify, coordinate, and deliver functional and cross‑functional training; promote best practice sharing and knowledge transfer across global networks.
  • Lead and support large projects and M&A/divestiture activities, including data identification, cleansing, transfer, validation, testing, health checks, and defect resolution.
  • Define and execute integration and carve‑out strategies for businesses and sites within scope.
  • Ensure business process expertise and contracted support are provided to joint ventures, third‑party partners, and i‑Park clients per established agreements.
