Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a permanent presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth. We are currently seeking an Operations Engineer to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment. As an Operations Engineer you will be responsible for helping to maintain and improve Lunar Outpost’s systems and infrastructure so that it can effectively design, develop, and deploy vehicles to the lunar surface and space. This includes working with company leadership and across the organization to develop and maintain processes

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in applicable Engineering or Finance discipline
3+ years experience
Experience implementing effective processes and procedures
High attention to detail
High expectation for quality and able to hold self and others accountable for those expectations
Solid quantitative skills
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
Self-starter and solutions focused approach
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills

MBA or business operations experience
Work in aerospace or DoD contracts

Responsibilities

Carry out necessary tasks with the Operations teams to ensure that Lunar Outpost operates effectively
Work with departments across the company to analyze processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement fixes, creating consistency and efficiency across the company
Participate in root cause analyses to drive preventive and corrective actions
Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders
Identify, develop, and execute improvement opportunities to enable business scalability
Work with company leadership to execute strategies to achieve company growth targets
Establish and report on company metrics to inform leadership and stakeholders on the accurate state of projects and the company
Create and maintain documentation and work instructions for operational procedures
