We are seeking a Operations & Maintenance Specialist (Water/Wastewater) to join our Water Infrastructure team (role can be based out of the following offices, Alexandria, VA, Atlanta, GA, or Orlando, FL . How will you contribute to the team? Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication. Create graphical deliverables in the form of training documents, reports, standard operating procedures, and other related documentation. Apply specialized knowledge necessary to manage the complex systems involved in water and wastewater treatment. Apply specialized knowledge of maintenance practices to advise owners, operators and engineers on techniques to increase the effectiveness of maintenance strategies and reduce the risks of asset failures. Apply specialized knowledge of technology, such as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), water information management systems, condition monitoring and process troubleshooting to support operations and maintenance personnel. Ability to determine and communicate data requirements for CMMS. Apply general asset management lifecycle planning expertise to solve specific infrastructure asset-related problems. Develop documents that support effective facility operations and maintenance, such as standard operating procedures, operations and maintenance manuals, training materials, condition assessment reports and others as needed. Write reports, participate in client presentations, discuss concepts and deliverables with clients, and participate in quality-control checks. Mentor staff in development and delivery of O&M and asset management capabilities. Coordinates with various departments within the organization (both client and consultant staff) to complete approved recommendations, ensures that all parties understand the proposed solution, documents requirements accurately and executes the implementation plan in a timely manner. Recognizes business opportunities and develops relationships to support those opportunities. Supports opportunity development from pre-positioning to Proposal presentations. Assists in the development of project scope and fee. Performs assignments and duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary from time to time.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid operator certificate or license issued by an operator certification program from a state or US territory in water treatment plant operation, wastewater treatment plant operation, water distribution system operation or wastewater collection system operation.
  • College degree (A.S. or B.S.) preferred.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in the operation or maintenance of a water, wastewater or similar facility.
  • Direct supervisory experience of operations and maintenance staff in a water or wastewater treatment facility or other industrial facility is preferred.
  • Expert understanding of computerized maintenance management database components and utilization.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills, including ability to present concepts verbally
  • Knowledge of tools required to create and present high-quality written, verbal and graphic deliverables
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be a strong team player and have strong customer interface and coordination skills
  • Good technical writing skills, including expertise in synthesizing information
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • The ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints and technical specifications.
  • The ability to analyze data to evaluate process performance, develop presentation graphics and to clearly communicate complex information.
  • The ability to understand technical materials, the ability to operate computer keyboard, and communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license issued by a state or US territory.
  • Travel for job related purposes including site visits, condition assessments, Client meetings and vendor-related training.
