About The Position

Plans and manages large projects. Coordinates resources to implement new systems, programs and processes within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. Provides detailed project design documentation, project plans and process flows to present to leadership. Guide and support projects, process, implementation and training teams. Makes design and process decisions. Conducts and/or facilitates complex business analysis for large process, quality and process improvement projects within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle and across Mayo Clinic's three group practices and Mayo Health System. Must demonstrate an understanding of operations, processes, systems, regulations, clinical practice and payers Coordinates teams of resources to ensure large project efforts are completed on time and within budget. Provides regular updates to senior leadership. Solicits and makes key decisions. Analyzes, designs, and redesigns processes, workflow, and systems to ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency, identifies resource impact, and manages the implementation. Leads and facilitates process improvement initiatives. Has a detailed understanding of project management and incorporates these skills while coordinating projects across mayo. Participates in the design, development and implementation of new business process and system applications in collaboration with Systems Services and Information Technology staff. Leads effective meetings, workgroups, and committees which include participants throughout Mayo Clinic. Facilitates and negotiates as needed to resolve issues. Specifies and acquires resources for project completion. Demonstrates ability to make appropriate decisions regarding complex operational issues having an Enterprise Revenue Cycle or Mayo Clinic impact. Interacts collaboratively with various departments to support and direct activities and work flows. Collaborates with leadership to resolve Enterprise Revenue Cycle, compliance, state and federal issues. May provide direct supervision to staff Works with external vendors and/or internal stakeholders as a subject matter expert to analyze issues and resolutions. Mentors and develops staff. Maintains knowledge of current healthcare environment. May need to present before local, state and national conferences and user group meetings. Understands and is accountable for ensuring a control environment is maintained to preserve Mayo's Standard of Ethics and minimize the financial and legal risks for Mayo. May work evening and weekend hours and travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelors with 10 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience is considered in Finance Revenue Cycle, or Healthcare.
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Management is required.
  • Requires knowledge of revenue cycle systems.
  • Customer-service oriented, timely in responses to requests for service/information, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, have the ability to work independently and possess leadership skills.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of operations, processes, systems, regulations, clinical practice and payers

Nice To Haves

  • Master's and 3+ years leading/driving process improvement initiatives preferred
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred
  • Lean Certifications preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of physician and hospital billing systems for Governmental, managed care and commercial payers is preferred.
