What this job involves: Develop your engineering career at JLL! The Senior Operating Engineer supports operation, inspection and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. You will work as with an engineering team at a state-of-the art 465,000 square foot Class A Life Science facility in Somerville , Massachusetts. This position requires the Operating Engineer to be on-site requirements may vary slightly. Schedule: 7am-3pm Monday through Friday + on-call

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
  • Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
  • Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
  • MWRA waste water license or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
  • Experience using Microsoft Off ice (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
  • Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, li t and/or drive
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage central utility plant operations
  • Monitor and oversee vendors
  • Complete assigned tasks that include but are limited to: facility maintenance operations, lighting system maintenance, plumbing services, HVAC system management, water treatment protocols, locksmith services, and additional general maintenance duties.
  • Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks
  • Support on-call or emergency response situations
  • Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, BMS
  • Comply with all safety procedures
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
