About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior OpenText Archive Center Migration Consultant (SAP ArchiveLink) position for our client. Location: Remote (occasional onsite work may be required; client located in Boston, MA – Villa Rica district) Duration: 6 months, with possibility for extension Duties: Lead end-to-end migration of OpenText Archive Center environments from version 21.4 to 25.4, ensuring minimal downtime and full data integrity. Requirements

  • Deep expertise in OpenText Archive Center migrations (21.4 → 25.4)
  • Strong knowledge of SAP ArchiveLink configuration and integration
  • Proficiency in OpenText platform components, including OTDS
  • Experience with SQL Server databases and Windows-based infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of data migration strategies and tools
  • Knowledge of SAP ILM, VIM, and document management processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex migration and performance issues
  • Strong analytical, planning, and execution skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex technical initiatives
  • 8+ years of experience with OpenText platforms
  • Proven hands-on experience executing Archive Center migrations end-to-end
  • Experience managing large-scale (TB-level) data migrations
  • Demonstrated experience integrating OpenText with SAP systems via ArchiveLink
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud or data center migrations preferred
  • Experience with OpenText Content Server is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct migration planning and assessment of existing OpenText landscape, including Archive Center and related components
  • Analyze TB-scale data volumes, archive structures, and metadata complexity
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and define migration strategy (side-by-side vs. in-place)
  • Validate compatibility across Windows OS, SQL Server databases, and Archive Center 25.4 support matrix
  • Design and build target environment, including installation and configuration of Archive Center 25.4
  • Implement OpenText Directory Services (OTDS) as needed
  • Configure storage providers, archive volumes, and security (certificates, authentication, user roles)
  • Migrate archive content while preserving structure, volume IDs, and integrity
  • Perform metadata migration via database backup/restore or OpenText tools
  • Rebuild indexes where required
  • Update OAC0 (Content Repository) and OAC3 (Document Types)
  • Validate HTTP content server connectivity
  • Test document retrieval and storage
  • Access to legacy archived documents
  • New document archiving functionality
  • ILM and retention policies
  • System performance and stability
  • Freeze archiving during final window
  • Perform delta synchronization
  • Switch SAP integrations to new Archive Center
  • Monitor logs and system performance
  • Provide post-migration support, including validation, stabilization, and performance tuning
  • Decommission legacy Archive Center 21.4 environment after fallback period
  • Plan and execute OTDS migration for users, roles, and authentication services
