About The Position

The Senior Onsite Industrial Maintenance Technician at Pitney Bowes is responsible for performing mechanical and electronic repairs on various equipment, including conveyor systems and printers. This role requires a strong background in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and effectively. The technician will work closely with a team, responding to emergencies and training other technicians, all while maintaining a focus on client success and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 5 years direct experience troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial mechanical equipment.
  • 5 years strong familiarity servicing mailing equipment, conveyor machines, PLC systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, pulleys, or other industrial electromechanical production equipment.
  • An AA degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field of study is preferred.
  • Experience using a multi-meter or other electronic testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals, and parts diagrams preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and work under deadline pressures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated equipment operation in a Windows PC environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electronic repairs of all equipment including conveyor systems, printers, and sorting equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns or emergency situations with urgency.
  • Complete preventative maintenance according to TQM and vendor operating standards.
  • Evaluate and assess equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and/or escalate serious equipment issues to the Lead Technician.
  • Study, review, and use vendor technical manuals and publications to remain familiar with equipment changes.
  • Train, assist, and guide other site technicians.
  • Utilize inventory, PM schedule, and work order systems, maintaining spare parts/supply inventory.
  • Perform all other duties as needed.
