Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with VMware Horizon, Aria, and VMware Cloud Foundation including installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies and concepts, particularly those related to VDI such as VMware Horizon, AppVolumes, Control-UP and VMware Carbon Black Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) application.
  • Understanding of network principles and configurations as they pertain to VDI environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • A significant amount of experience in IT, with a focus on VDI and virtualization technologies.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) would be advantageous.
  • Experience in managing projects and leading initiatives related to VDI deployment and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of VMware Horizon VDI environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Providing advanced support for end-users, troubleshooting issues related to virtual desktops, applications, and connectivity.
  • Planning and executing upgrades to the VDI infrastructure, including software updates and hardware replacements.
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the VDI environment from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Continuously monitoring the performance of the VDI system and making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of the VDI environment, including configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Working closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration and support of VDI solutions within the broader IT infrastructure.
  • Providing training and guidance to junior staff and end-users on best practices for using and managing VDI.
