About The Position

The Senior Officer, Foundation Relations at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is responsible for creating and managing strategic partnerships with institutional and corporate foundations focused on global health and development. This role aims to cultivate new partnerships and enhance existing ones, ensuring alignment with the foundation's mission to advance equity and maximize the impact of philanthropic investments. The position requires exceptional relationship management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to coordinate across various teams within the foundation.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in partnership management or business development within the philanthropic or nonprofit sector.
  • Experience in global health or development is preferred.
  • Strong project management experience with excellent planning and execution skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Solid analytical skills, including proficiency in assessing partnership impact and performance.
  • Proven ability to drive action across large institutions and different cultural contexts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in advocacy and community organization, social work, public policy, or justice.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to multi-task and resolve unstructured problems.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute partnership approaches that align with the foundation's strategy.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with priority corporate and institutional foundation partners.
  • Oversee partnership activities, ensuring a high level of partner satisfaction.
  • Work across internal teams to integrate partner goals and priorities.
  • Proactively address challenges in partnerships and provide solutions.
  • Evaluate partnership performance and provide strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Represent the foundation at conferences, events, and meetings.
