About The Position

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Office Engineer to join our team! In this role you will work on one of the busiest airports in the US. This person will provide a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project closeout and construction team. Also provides assistance to APM claims team.

Requirements

  • 15 years of engineering/construction experience.
  • B.S./B.A. in related field (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction/closeout program and the ability to communicate progress to both technical- and management level personnel.
  • Capability to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong background in software and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting projects of similar size/scope/complexity is preferred.
  • Master’s a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the APM team in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals.
  • Perform engineering, construction and closeout contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into Prolog/PMWeb and prepare management information status report, as required.
  • Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in Prolog/PMWeb i.e. the project information system.
  • Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies).
  • Work with the APM Developer to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to APM Developer.
  • Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
  • Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etc.
