About The Position

This position is responsible for providing the skill and knowledge development for NRC licensed operators using classroom, in-plant and full scale control room simulators or develops and maintains operations procedures or conducts evaluations of plant programs and procedures. These individuals are responsible for meeting the needs of licensed managers. These individuals posses a high degree of technical knowledge regarding integrated nuclear plant operation and operation of a commercial simulator and significant facilitation skills such as communication, conflict resolution, pre/post evolution critiquing

Requirements

High school diploma/GED equivalent required
6 years of Commercial Nuclear Power experience.
SRO license or certification on CPSES.
Fully qualified nuclear training instructor (including simulator booth operator qualification).
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Requires approval of function level management.
3 years of Control Room SRO experience as Unit Supervisor or Shift Manager at CPSES or similar facility.
2 years of experience which involves instructing licensed operators on a full scale control room simulator.
Occasional long, irregular hours.

Responsibilities

Prepare Simulator Exercise Guides and Evaluations.
Prepare Simulator Job Performance Measures.
Conduct Training and Evaluation scenarios using the CPSES control room simulator.
Conduct critiques of licensed operator performance.
Consult with licensed operators on and off shift to identify and implement individual and crew performance enhancements.
Communicate simulator fidelity concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Conduct tests designed to maintain simulator certification in accordance with NRC requirements.
Effectively interact with external agencies such as NRC and INPO.
Develop and maintain operations department procedures.
Conduct evaluations of station programs and processes
