Employees at this level manage work with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. This is the third level of the Configuration Management (CM) classification hierarchy. In addition to the duties and expectations stated in CM I and CM II, employees at this level manage work in CM areas of specialization with minimal supervision. Incumbents have advanced skills and the ability to work independently with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. In-depth knowledge of civil, electrical, digital, and mechanical discipline configuration practices and standards is possessed. They are fully competent in CM concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. They are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in one or more CM competencies (EDB, Drawings, EC Reviews, CAS Modules, etc.). In-depth understanding of EC programmatic interfaces (Fire Protection, Security, RP, Seismic, Q Class, Equipment Labels, etc.) is maintained to ensure that information is properly updated. They have a thorough understanding of CM roles in support of external organizations. They provide site wide leadership in selected CM areas. They can lead the CM team when the CM Manager is unavailable.
