Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Nuclear Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
  • Relevant advanced certifications in nuclear engineering welcomed
  • 11-15 years of progressive engineering experience
  • Extensive background in nuclear industry operations and regulations
  • Proven experience with civil/structural engineering in nuclear environments
  • History of managing complex engineering projects independently
  • Experience with seismic qualification and structural analysis
  • Proficiency with GT Strudel and structural analysis software
  • Deep knowledge of ASME codes, NRC regulations, and nuclear standards
  • Experience with pipe support design and analysis
  • Understanding of welding procedures and rigging operations
  • Familiarity with nuclear plant systems and safety requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proven management and team facilitation skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
  • Relevant advanced certifications in nuclear engineering welcomed

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in support of nuclear plant operations and maintenance
  • Perform advanced civil/structural engineering tasks including seismic qualification analysis
  • Design and analyze pipe supports, structural modifications, and safety-related systems
  • Utilize specialized tools such as GT Strudel for structural analysis
  • Manage engineering projects from conception through implementation
  • Perform system trend analyses and ensure compliance with plant safety requirements
  • Apply nuclear industry standards and regulations (NRC, ASME, ACI) to new situations
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and provide conflict resolution for team progress
  • Coordinate welding and rigging activities for structural modifications
  • Act as technical consultant to supervision and provide backup support
  • Ensure all work aligns with nuclear safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge transfer initiatives
