About The Position

Are you passionate about bringing innovative energy products from concept to high-volume manufacturing? We are seeking a Senior NPI Engineer to lead end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts for next-generation inverter and battery technologies. In this highly visible role, you will bridge design, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure seamless product launches with speed, quality, and cost excellence. The Senior NPI Engineer is responsible for driving successful product launches from prototype builds through ramp to high-volume manufacturing (HVM). This role partners closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, commodity teams, and global engineering groups to optimize manufacturability, mitigate risks, and ensure operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or product industrialization within electronics, power systems, or energy storage industries.
  • Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes, automation, and line bring-up.
  • Proven experience with statistical process control (SPC), Cp/Cpk, GR&R, PFMEA, and 8D methodologies.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and global supply chains.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs in fast-paced environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on, proactive problem solver with strong technical depth.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving structure in evolving environments.
  • Excellent communicator who thrives in global, cross-cultural teams.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder alignment skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product launches with contract manufacturers, ensuring smooth transition from pilot builds to high-volume production.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to optimize cost, yield, quality, and scalability throughout the NPI lifecycle.
  • Own build readiness, program schedules, and risk management; proactively identify issues and implement mitigation plans.
  • Lead defect scoping, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and 8D closure to ensure robust product quality.
  • Qualify semi-automated and automated production lines, including Cp/Cpk validation, GR&R studies, and cycle time optimization.
  • Support product iterations by providing manufacturing feedback to design engineering and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to evaluate designs for quotation, manufacturability, and long-term roadmap alignment.
  • Collaborate across global inverter and battery operations teams to ensure alignment on standards, best practices, and launch execution.
  • Maintain NPI dashboards, program trackers, and reporting to provide clear status visibility to leadership.
  • Lead qualification of new components in coordination with suppliers and commodity management teams.
  • Support manufacturing documentation (MAP releases, process documentation, work instructions, etc.).
  • Mentor junior engineers and new hires, fostering technical development and knowledge sharing.
