About The Position

Klein Tools is a dynamic, fast-paced and results driven company dedicated to launching hundreds of innovative products each year. The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for properly supporting and managing the new product development, sustaining and cost saving initiatives. This position is responsible for the general engineering requirements for the Klein Tools core product lines. The role involves working with team projects and managing projects independently, guiding products from feasibility through development, pilot, and up to launch. Additionally, the engineer will perform quality improvement and cost reduction projects that enhance customer satisfaction and profitability, utilizing problem-solving skills to analyze engineering difficulties and define corrective actions. The position also includes performing engineering analysis and field research to define design requirements for new products, developing test plans for benchmark evaluation of competitive products, and mentoring novice engineers while continuing to learn from more experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Three (3) years of work-related experience.
  • Solid understanding of new product development and introduction.
  • Strong technical, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to facilitate complex projects and work on a project team.
  • Effective communication with cross-functional members and outside consultants.
  • Experience managing tasks and mid-scale engineering projects.
  • Ability to complete activities and perform projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage new product development and cost-saving initiatives.
