About The Position

Harris Health System is hiring a full-time Senior Neurologic Occupational Therapist for its outpatient department at Fournace Place . This position is ideal for a highly skilled OT who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. You will be responsible for conducting patient evaluations, administering neurologically focused interventions, supporting departmental quality improvement efforts, and mentoring staff as a clinical specialist. You will also serve as a key resource for program or product line development and be responsible for managing outpatient appointment systems and working closely with front office staff to ensure proper certification and recertification processes. This role requires the ability to adapt patient care and customer service approaches to accommodate the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and safety needs of a diverse population. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Texas OT license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an AHA-approved hospital program
  • Minimum 4 years of OT experience OR 1 year as a licensed OT plus 6 years as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) (with completion of a bridge program)
  • Above Average Verbal (frequent public contact)
  • Excellent written communication (correspondence and reporting)
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and Microsoft Word
  • Competency in occupational therapy equipment and outpatient systems
  • Flexible availability is required

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Certification preferred
  • Prior ambulatory care experience strongly preferred
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish or Vietnamese preferred
