Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, or STEM).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in design, systems integration, or verification.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals such as IP addressing, Ethernet, VLANs, switching, routing, and topology concepts
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering for the Networking product line, ensuring deterministic performance, end-to-end integration, and robust operability
  • Own certification strategy and execution for DAL A programs (ARP 4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-297, DO-330); support SOIs, audits, and closure of findings
  • Define, decompose, and manage traceable requirements for TSN features (IEEE 802.1AS/802.1Qbv/802.1Qci/802.1DP) and ARINC A664/A615A; manage specification flow-down to modules/components/subcontractors
  • Drive validation and verification at system and component levels; develop verification strategies and artifacts; ensure configuration control and interface management across execution teams
  • Conduct system and product integration to maximize performance and operability; manage risk trades across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution (software, hardware, test, safety, reliability, maintainability, certification) and contribute to design/code reviews for network switch development
  • Engage customers and suppliers on requirements, interoperability, and compliance plans; benchmark industry practices and competitive differentiators
  • Mentor systems engineers; serve as a best-practice resource; contribute to strategy/policy within area of responsibility
  • Use sound judgment to resolve moderately complex technical and operational problems; escalate risks early to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets
  • Travel up to 10%
